Bride & Groom for Liz
I designed this set for my co worker, Liz. She ordered them for her bride-to-be daughter as soon as she saw my "Date Night" bears! Unfortunatley, two days after she placed her order, she suffered a stroke and is still recovering. :( Liz has been out for a few weeks now and we're all praying for a peaceful and speedy recovery.

Something like the Cosbys
Growing up, who wasn't impressed by the Cosbys? As a little girl, I watched every week and imagined how cool it would be to be Claire Huxtable. She was brilliant, sophisticated, and beautiful! Plus, she was a loving wife and devoted mother, too! As if all that wasn't enough, she was married to a doctor who treated her with dignity and respect and was an equally devoted father! Oh yes, as a little girl Claire was definitely someone I truly admired. In a lot of ways, she reminded me of my own mother. She was always perfectly coordinated when she got dressed up, she was a shimmering example of femininity, and when she spoke not only did people hear her but they actually listened. Now I could go on for days about the two of them, but I won't (you're welcome). But they were both the inspiration for my most recent dolls.
I made the "Cliff" bear a tad bit shorter than "Claire" to pay homage to my daddy, because as much as I admire my mom I adore my dad. Mama's got him by at least a few inches and half the time she wears heels to make it even more noticeable! LOL Notice Claire even has her own little brief case and is all set for court. :)

A Bad Guy for My Good Guy
My Hunny has watched me create countless crochet and knit projects, but I've never really made anything for him. I started him a sweater a few years ago and only got as far as the back and a sleeve. Last year I started what would have been a lovely cashmere argyle scarf for him, but got bored after about 20 inches. So the other day he politely asked me to make him a Darth Vader, which I was delighted to do! This one is only about 3" tall, though. So I'll probably be making a larger one very soon. ;)

And the Winner is, Spongebob!!!!!!
So we took a little poll on what I should create next and the winner was Spongebob Squarepants!! Well, I started making him and was really happy with the way he was turning out....Apparently so was my maltichon puppy, Bailey. He's claimed spongebob for himself. I never got the chance to make the arms and legs so he's currently just a torso and pants. A very, very cute torso and pants! I wish I'd taken a pic before bailey got to him, but hopefully you can still get an idea of how he was shaping up. :)

Distracted From the Dolls for a Sec
Seriously! How am I supposed to focus on just one type of project when there are just way too many fun things to crochet?!? I've been trying very hard to focus on my amigurumi projects, but lately I've been finding inspiration to so so many other things. The latest is crochet jewelry...rings in particular. They're fun and super fast to work up. Plus, I figure I can make some to go with just about every outfit in my closet!!! I'm sure I'll be working up some earrings, bracelets, and necklaces to match! Anyways, where's my focus?!? I gotta finish the amigurumi book! Check these rings out and tell me what you think or suggest some other designs, too!

My Buddy Max the Chimp
Often times I make up dolls at work just kind of "as I go". But with this one, I decided I was going to actually make a pattern and not just a doll. So after watching a show about people who'd been injured by their pet chimps, I decided I'd make the safest pet chimp one could ever own! It's been exciting trying to take note of everything I do to him and even more interesting trying to figure out exactly how I want everything to look. He's just about done but, I haven't figured out how I'd like his hands to look. I figured I should take my time and really think about it because I'd previously made him shoes, which my 5 year old pointed out was ridiculous since chimps need their feet free to grab and climb trees! Duh?!?!?! Of course I had to go back and make him little monkey feet. :)
Kitty
This is my version of a Little Kitty pattern I found on kanjidolls.blogspot.com. They have a link to the pdf pattern there. It is the very first amigurumi doll I ever made from a pattern. I love the way it turned out and it was a super quick easy project too!
